Individualised, Confidential, Evidence-Based Therapy

Individual Therapy
Therapy sessions last 50 minutes, giving Clayton 10 minutes at the end for his clinical notes and treatment planning. Sessions are collaborative, strengths-based, and guided by a blend of evidence-based therapies, including:
Schema Therapy: helps reshape deep-rooted patterns formed in early life by working with emotional “parts” (modes). It is ideal for complex trauma, personality dynamics, and longstanding relational difficulties.
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT): explores the link between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, helping clients identify patterns that fuel distress and learn practical ways to shift them. It is ideal for anxiety, depression, OCD, and mood disorders.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT): emphasises emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. It is suited to those navigating intense emotions, self-harm, or relational instability.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): encourages psychological flexibility, teaching individuals to accept their thoughts while moving toward values-aligned actions. Helpful for anxiety, life changes, chronic pain, and existential concerns.
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR): Targets trauma through bilateral stimulation (like eye movements), helping the brain process distressing memories more adaptively. EMDR is client-led and paced with care. It is particularly effective for PTSD, single-incident trauma, childhood trauma, anxiety with somatic symptoms, and those who find verbal recounting overwhelming.

Psychological Assessment
Comprehensive assessments are available to support understanding, diagnosis, or access to supports. Assessments offered include:
What to expect
An initial consultation to explore your background, needs, and determine the most suitable approach. Following this session, you will receive a detailed quote for the assessment.
The assessment is typically conducted over two to three sessions, each lasting up to two hours. It typically takes around three weeks to score and compile your comprehensive report. If more tests were completed, this may take longer, but you'll be kept updated throughout.
Once finalised, you'll be invited to a feedback session to discuss your results in detail. You’ll receive a digital copy of your report.
Please note: the feedback session and report release can only proceed once the assessment fee has been paid in full.

Telehealth & Out-of-Office Options
Whether you're navigating mobility challenges, rural access, or prefer to connect from your own space, we’ll do our best to meet you where you are.
We offer sessions in-office and via secure telehealth (video or phone), depending on what feels most accessible and comfortable for you.
Out-of-office appointments, such as visits to your home, aged care setting, or other safe location, may be available based on individual needs. These arrangements are made on a case-by-case basis, with additional travel charges applicable where necessary.
After-hours and weekend appointments are available via telehealth when needed. These outside-hours sessions may carry an additional fee.
Fees & Rebates
The Australian Psychological Society (APS) currently recommends a session fee of $311.00 for a registered psychologist for a 45 to 60-minute session. Clayton’s fees are set well below these recommendations to ensure that services are as affordable as possible.
